Termites can damage a house or building. Years ago, it was considered sufficient to have only a termite inspection performed before purchasing real estate. If there was no evidence of an active termite infestation, it was assumed that the building had no termite damage or structural damage. In some cases, there was termite damage that was structural. Today we recommend that you have a termite inspection performed by a qualified termite control specialist with a trained and certified Termite Detection Canine. Our Termite Dogs are trained to work around physical obstacles and discriminate between various scents. All our termite dogs are trained in the passive response, i.e., to sit on the odor, so as not to disturb any evidence at the scene. Your dog will be fully trained when he is picked up. Our dogs are put through a minimum of 12 weeks extensive training. Every endeavor is made to provide training that is as realistic as possible. In this fashion the K-9 teams are prepared for the problems they encounter in their actual work environment when they return to duty. Once the dogs have completed training, your handler will go through an extensive handling course with his new partner. The price of the dog includes a two week handler school. Each handler attending the course must earn certification before returning to duty using his canine. However, any handler desiring extra training time will be given that time at no additional charge.
